Lopetegui leaves Paco Alcacer out of Spain squad... and Casillas!

Julen Lopetegui has revealed his second squad since taking over as La Roja boss earlier this year

Julen Lopetegui has left Paco Alcacer out of his latest Spain squad and handed a recall to Napoli’s Jose Callejon for the games against Italy and Albania.

Cesc Fabregas and Iker Casillas -- who's La Roja career looks like coming to an end -- have once again been omitted, too, while Andres Iniesta returns after being injured for Lopetegui’s first squad.

“Iniesta’s return is great news for us, of course. He’s a really important player and it’s good to have him back,” the Spain coach said after revealing his list.

On Fabregas, he added: “Cesc is a great footballer, but there are a lot of players that we like and that we follow. Not everyone can be called up.”

It was a similar line of thinking on Alcacer: “We can talk about a lot of players. We have to decide and we decided to pick others, there’s nothing more in it.”
