Sampaoli closing in on dream of coaching Barcelona's Lionel Messi
Olé have revealed the Sevilla coach is close to becoming Argentina boss
He will take over from Bauza and an announcement is expected in the coming weeks
Argentine newspaper Olé assure that Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli will be the replacement for current coach Edgardo Bauza.
The agreement will reportedly be reached next week and all that's left to decide is the length of the contract. Sampaoli wants five years, until June 2022.
Everything suggests Sampaoli, therefore, will fulfill his dream of coaching Mess. But he will not do so at Barcelona despire having been one of the contenders when Luis Enrique first announced his departure.
According to Ole, he will take over the Argentine side from Bauza, who has still not been released from his duties, so everything is not closed yet.
They say everything will be fixed during 'semana sampa', which is a play on words on 'semana santa' coming up to Easter.
Once they have the definitive 'yes' from Sampaoli, Bauza will be fired, despite the new president offering him support on Thursday.
Neither the reports that Holland want him nor the money on offer from Qatar will seduce Sampaoli, with his maximum desire being to coach Messi, which will be possible with the national team.
With Sevilla in freefall, where he's about to use a key collegaue in Monchi, his departure will be allowed. It will still cost the AFA one million euros, though, plue the 900,000 dollars they have to pay Bauza to fire him.
