The French manager was particularly delighted with Madrid's first half performance

"Six titles? Well, we'll try", he said

Zinedine Zidane was delighted with Real Madrid’s performance last night, especially in the first half. “I’m happy because of how we played above all. The first half was spectacular, the high pressure and keeping hold of the ball. In the second half, we suffered a bit, but that’s to be expected,” he said.

He admitted that Asensio was making things difficult for him and that it’s not easy to leave him on the bench. “Asensio was fantastic, but it wasn’t just him. It’s difficult because they’re all playing well”.

The Frenchman was cautious when asked if his team was superior to Barça and expects the league to be tighter: “I don’t think we’ll see the difference there was in the Super Cup in the league. Six titles? Well, we’ll try”.

The two super cup wins have given Madrid a lot of optimism going into the new season, but Zidane warned that the season was just getting started. “We’ve won two important trophies against big rivals and it’s a very good way to start the season, but we know there’s a long way to go,” he said.
