Zidane: "I can't imagine a Spanish league without Barça"
The Real Madrid manager was asked his thoughts about the possibility that Barça may have to leave La Liga if Catalonia becomes independent
Zidane said that as a football fan he hoped it would not happen
Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, was asked in the press conference before Real Madrid’s game against Levante about the possibility of Barcelona having to leave La Liga if Catalonia becomes independent.
The Madrid manager was asked on two occasions on the issue, the first time he said “I can’t imagine a Spanish league without Barça, that’s the only thing I can say as a football fan, as a fan of this sport. I see Barcelona always in this league. And that’s it. I hope it doesn’t happen”.
When asked again on the issue, Zidane answered “I’m not going to talk more about this because there are people who want it and people who don’t and I don’t know what’s going to happen,” before reiterating that he couldn’t imagine a Spanish league without Barça.
