There are doubts in the Spanish capital over whether the UEFA semi-final draw was clean

Some are claiming Ian Rush knew which ball he wanted to pick for match the Madrid sides

The match-up between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final has not gone down well in the Spanish capital. Some are claiming the draw, at UEFA’s base in Nyon, was tampered with.

Madrid were the first ball out, followed by Atletico. That means the final in Cardiff cannot be between two Spanish teams, like in Lisbon and Milan.

Some are wondering whether something was amiss. Ian Rush, ambassador for the final did not doubt for a moment when it came to picking the second ball out. He went directly for one, without swirling them around, as if he knew which one he wanted to pick. So in Madrid they found that curious and are discussing ‘warm’ balls.
