Ronaldo tax case: Ramos thinks there could be dark forces working against Madrid

The defender thinks someone may be trying to destabilise his team-mates during their good run of form

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos was asked about the latest stories concerning team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, who is reported to have hid 150 million euros from the Spanish tax authorities.

"These are very delicate issues," the Spain defender said, before going on to suggest that there are dark forces at work.

"I believe the law should be followed. Everyone needs to have their accounts clear, but these things shouldn't affect the players or the team.

"My conscience is completely clear because all of my earnings and the contributions I have made are above board.

"Whether there is any truth in these allegations, or whether they are lies to destabilise us when we are in our best form, we'll see."

Pepe and Fabio Coentrao have also been accused of not having there taxes in order while former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has also faced problems in the past.

It's not just Madrid, either, with a number of Barcelona players also fidning themselves in trouble with the tax authoritites.

Lionel Messi, Javier Mascherano, Adriano and Samuel Eto'o are among players to have experienced problems in the past and the present.
