The Welsh forward will be sidelined for three weeks with a calf problem

Bale will miss both legs of the Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid have confirmed that Gareth Bale has another calf injury after tests on Tuesday, ruling him out for the next three weeks,

The Welsh forward was taken off in the first half of Madrid's Clasico defeat to Barcelona on Sunday, replaced by Marco Asensio at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"Following the tests carried out on Gareth Bale by the Sanitas Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with a grade 2 injury in his left calf," a club statement said.

Bale injured his calf in the first leg of the Champions League tie with Bayern Munich and was rushed back for the Barça game having missed his side's last two games.

He has been plagued with calf problems since joining Madrid and, based on early estimates, will not be back until the final two league games of the season, against Sevilla, Celta Vigo and Malaga.

That would also mean he'd be available for a potential Champions League final -- if Madrid get there -- in his home town of Cardiff.

However, Zinedine Zidane will be without the Welsh international for the semi-final tie against Atletico and league games against Deportivo, Valencia and Granada.
