Incidencias

Partido correspondiente a los cuartos de final de la Liga de Campeones disputado en el Bernabéu.

Bayern Munich played extra-time with 10 men after Arturo Vidal was sent off in the 85th minute harshly, for a second yellow card that shouldn’t have been given after he won the ball in a challenge with Marco Asensio.

Sergio Ramos’s own goal forced the game to extra time after Ronaldo equalised Robert Lewandowski’s opening goal which he netted from the penalty spot.

Ronaldo netted from Ramos’ cross in extra-time for his 100th Champions League goal, although he was offside, just as he was for his hat-trick strike.

Asensio wrapped up the win with a wonderful solo goal against the tired Bundesliga champions, although Madrid’s big victory didn’t tell the whole story of the game.

The visitors started well with Marcelo clearing off the line from Thiago, before at the other end Jerome Boateng did the same to deny Ramos at the other end.

Madrid took charge of the game and could have scored when they had several chances in a fine spell before half-time, but it was the visitors who opened the scoring after the interval.

Casemiro brought down Robben in the area and Lewandowski, who missed the first leg with an injury, netted from the spot.

However Madrid pushed to level and did so when Casemiro crossed for Ronaldo who headed home well. But one minute later and Bayern were ahead on the night and level on aggregate, with a lose ball being nudged beyond Navas by Ramos into his own net.

Then followed Vidal’s red card and after Ronaldo made it 2-2 on the night, the Germans crumbled.
