Perez's Real Madrid want to beat Barça to signing of Paulo Dybala

Los Blancos are already thinking about big signings they can make after their transfer ban

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is interested in signing Paulo Dybala, making him the club’s first big signing once their transfer ban ends. It wouldn’t be an immediate investment, therefore, because they’ve still not started said ban, but Perez is clear who will be his top target afterwards. He has the backing of Zinedine Zidane, too.

The challenge is to find young players who can help bridge the generational change from Bale, Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo and Perez feels Dybala is ideal. He already negotiated with Juventus for Paul Pogba, who he finally ruled out sighing. Juve paid 32 million to Napoli for Argentine forward Dybala, who in time could leave for as much as Pogba went to Manchester United for.

Perez feels signing Dybala will be a response to Barcelona signing Neymar. Dybala, a fan of Lionel Messi, wanted to play at Camp Nou, but the Blaugrana have previously decided not to go big for him and he could end up at the Bernabeu instead.
