Perez: Bringing Zidane to the club one of my proudest decisions
The Los Blancos president reviewed the last year at the club's AGM on Sunday
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has heaped praise on Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking at the club’s annual general meeting, Perez looked back on the last year, which brought the club's 11th Champions League.
He said: “Zidane symbolises everything that is Madrid.
“He’s part of Madrid’s legend. One of the decisions that I feel most proud of is to have brought him to Madrid, first as a player and now as a coach.
“He’s won the Champions League with Madrid as a player, an assistant and coach.”
Talking about Ronaldo, Perez used the word "mythical" to describe his Portuguese forward.
“Cristiano was again the top scorer in the Champions League with 16 goals," he added, "he won the Golden Boot for the fourth time and is the only player who has done [that].
“He was the best player in Europe for UEFA and is the top scorer in Madrid’s history with 369 goals. He’s mythical for madridismo and football."
