Madrid fans getting fed up with out of form striker Karim Benzema

The Frenchman is without a goal in four games and is struggling to make his mark

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is experiencing his toughest hours at the club.

The Frenchman is in the pillory for his poor form this season and, especially, for the lack of effect he has had in recent matches.

Madrid's fans are running out patience with him. They accuse him of hiding when he's most needed and of not working hard enough for the cause.

Benzema has received favourable treatment from president Florentino Perez and especially his manager Zinedine Zidane.

The French coach has practically been a parapet for his compatriot, despite his poor form and the chance to give Alvaro Morata a run of games.

Against Celta Vigo, as Madrid exited the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, Benzema was once again out of sorts.

He was absent, disoriented tactically and showed a lack of hunger and rhythm, which led to despair among Madrid fans.

Two goals so far this month is not enough to satisfy the Bernabeu and he's now four games without a goal -- he's only scored five in the league all season.

Meanwhile, Madrid fans are chanting for Zidane to give Morata -- or even Mariano -- a chance to impress.
