In England they say the two clubs could do business this summer

United want Morata and Madrid are long-time fans of David De Gea

The news surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future and his decision to leave Real Madrid have led to a number of rumours regarding this summer’s transfer window.

Reports of one of the biggest ‘operations’ comes from British tabloid The Sun, who link Manchester United’s desire to sign Alvaro Morata with Florentino Perez’s wish to bring in David De Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo’s threat to leave Madrid.

The result of this cocktail would be, according to the newspaper, an offer of 180 million euros and De Gea in exchange for Ronaldo and Morata.

Complicating matters, though, is Zinedine Zidane’s confidence in Keylor Navas, Madrid’s current goalkeeper.

It’s also difficult to believe that Madrid, in principle, would let two forwards leave, even if the money would allow them to make a signing, such as Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe who they are trying to sign this summer.

Finally, it’s also difficult to believe that Morata would accept being in Ronaldo’s shadow again should the Portuguese international end up back at his former club.

However, Jose Mourinho may decide just to focus on signing Morata rather than getting involved in Ronaldo’s soap opera.
