Prosecutors allege two counts of tax fraud in 2011 and 2012

Mourinho owes the Spanish tax authorities 3.3 million euros

Spanish prosecutors have filed a claim against former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho for tax fraud totalling €3.3 million.

According to prosecutors, a statement said, Mourinho committed two counts of tax fraud in 2011 and 2012, when he was still the manager of Madrid.

According to the same prosecutors, the now Manchester United coach used a corporate structure -- the creation of which could not be dated -- to hide his money.

In total, the amount fraud amounts to €3,304,670 (€1,611,537 in 2011 and €1,693,133 in 2012), according to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Mourinho signed a contract with Real Madrid on March 31, 2010 and transferred his residence to Madrid. That made him become a tax resident in Spain and he had to declare as such.

In July 2014, the Tax Office informed Mourinho that they would investigate his personal income tax returns for the years 2010 to 2012.

A year later, in July of 2015, the Portuguese signed a certificate of compliance in which he recognised the lack of declaration of part of the image rights and agreed to pay €1,146,307.
