Jekyll & Hyde Real Madrid survive Leganes test without BBC

Marco Asensio, Morata & Lucas Vázquez showed their qualities in 4-2 win

Madrid were pegged back from 3-0 to 3-2 before eventually sealing three points

Real Madrid beat Leganes 4-2 on Wednesday to move back to the top of La Liga after Barcelona had beaten Sevilla 3-0.

James Rodriguez opened the scoring after just 15 minutes before a brace from Alvaro Morata helped Madrid into a three-goal lead after just 23 minutes.

However, the home side responded at Butarque and goals from Gabriel Pires and Luciano Neves ensured they were back in the game before the break.

Madrid, though, wrapped up the points when Morata's header was deflected home via Martin Mantovani just after the break.

Morata claimed the goal -- his 15th of the season -- and left at full-time with the match ball, although there were doubts about whether it was actually his goal.

Los Blancos picked up the three points without Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Toni Kroos, all three of whom were left out of the squad.

Karim Benzema, meanwhile, did not make it off the bench as Zidane rested some players ahead of demanding games against Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich in the next week.
