How referee tried to help Madrid score another ninety-Ramos goal vs. Valencia

De Burgos Bengoetxea made several decisions in Madrid's favour on Wednesday night

Real Madrid's loss against Valencia on Wednesday at Mestalla, in one of their two games in hand, has hidden another helping hand which a referee tried to give them this season.

Basque referee De Burgos Bengoetxea did something which almost stripped Valencia of their three points. Some of his decisions had already been heavily criticised, above all by the Valencia fans. We're talking about the penalties not given for fouls by Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal on Munir and Simone Zaza respectively.

However, the biggest moment, and one which could have had big consequences, came in added on time, in that part of the game when Sergio Ramos so often scores.

De Burgos Bengoetxea had added four minutes of stoppage time when Madrid won a corner with three minutes and 42 second gone. It is then when a second ball came on to the pitch from the stands. Incomprehensibly, De Burgos Bengoetxea himself acted quickly to get the ball kicked off the pitch so that Madrid could take their corner. However, not even with Keylor Navas forward could they rescue a point.

In the end, there was no ninety-Ramos at Mestalla.
