Since it was revealed Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid this summer, there has been non-stop conversation on the Portugal star's future.
Ronaldo is not ready to make a pact with the tax office and wants to leave Spain. The numbers will be high, but could Florentino Perez really demand for the forward? And most importantly: who could pay it?
In principle, the list of candidates is not long. Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are two clubs who could affront such a deal and pay his wages.
Meanwhile, information has leaked that Madrid may be prepared to call Ronaldo's bluff: "With 200 million euros we could do a lot of things," is reportedly the feeling from some at the club.
CR7, BEHIND Messi
Madrid signed Ronaldo in 2009 from United for 94 million euros. At that point, website Transfermarkt valued the player at 60 million euros.
Currently, the same website says Ronaldo is worth around 100 million euros, with the fact he will turn 33 during the next season seeing his value reduced. Neymar is rated at a similar price on the website.
Both of those players are behind Messi, who Transfermarkt say is the most expensive player in the world at 120 million euros -- whether any of those three would be sold for those amounts, though, is another question.
Luis Suarez, the other member of the MSN trident, is rated fourth at 90 million euros. Behind him is Antoine Griezmann (Atlético), Paul Pogba (M. United), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) and Robert Lewandowski (Bayern M.) who are all valued at 80 million euros.
Neymar, TOP OF CIES
In another study, carried out by CIES, Neymar is the most expensive player in the world at 210.7 million euros. England pair Harry Kane, 24, and Dele Alli, 21, follow him at £155.1 million and 153.6 million, respectively.
Fourth-placed Messi is valued at 151.7 million, while Ronaldo is the oldest player on the list and is ranked 11th at 112.4 million.
However, the reality is that the transfer market often throws up far superior prices, as proved with United's move for Paul Pogba last summer, who joined from Juventus for a world record 120 million. Madrid would presumably demand a new world record fee for Ronaldo.
