Gareth Bale has finally run out of credit with Real Madrid fans

Gareth Bale is edging closer and closer to the exit door at Real Madrid. He's enduring his worst spell since he joined the club and the fans have had enough. Aside from his poor form, he's done the minimum to adapt to his surroundings at Madrid or life in Spain. Insecure, weak and error-prone are just some of the insults aimed his way. Against Huesca, he failed again. It was another match where he didn't perform as expected and missed an open goal from three yards.

Florentino Perez knows the writing on the wall and has given up trying to defend his top boy. He was almost gone last season until he turned up in the Champions League final. That change upset Zidane who, after losing Cristiano as well, decided he wanted out. But with no more competitions left for Real Madrid to win this season, Bale has no way of earning another year in the Spanish capital.

Bale's time at Real Madrid is over. His departure, alongside Kroos, appears only a matter of time. Manchester United are willing to let Pogba go if they are able to secure both players from Madrid in exchange. If they can't reach an agreement over that deal, Bale's exit would still net Madrid a sizeable fee. The squad needs greater investment elsewhere.

Those who continue to defend him do so by pointing out at his past achievements and success. But now his time is over. Despite having a deal which runs until 2022, his injuries, the fact he's 30 years old and his poor form mean it's the best solution for everyone.
