Furious Real Madrid threaten La Liga with European Super League

Los Blancos are outraged their trip to Vigo was postponed and have re-opened an old idea...

Real Madrid are really annoyed by La Liga's decision to postpone their game against Celta Vigo at the weekend due to the weather in Galicia and the damage to Balaidos.

The pressure from Madrid to play the game did now work and they have not hidden their outrage -- to the point that they've even threatened to leave the Spanish league for a European Super League.

The majority of informed media in Madrid, those close to the club, report on Monday about the possibility of Madrid quitting La Liga. It leads in both Diario AS and Marca.

It is president Florentino Perez's reaction to La Liga's decision. Madrid feel not everything was done in order to get the game on at the weekend -- even if that meant playing at another ground. They claim that would have happened in a European Super League.

Therefore, according to reports in the capital, Los Blancos are claiming they could push ahead with a move which would revolutionise European football. Perez and the club are looking at the possibility of leaving Spain for Europe.

The European Super League project already has support from the biggest clubs on the continent, such as Barcelona, Madrid, Chelsea, Milan and Manchester City, among others, who feel a UEFA-wide competition would increase income.

Now, Real Madrid, annoyed with La Liga, want to re-open this option.
