Florentino Perez is desperate to sign the teenager, also wanted by Barça
Brazilian website Globoesporte revealed on Sunday the mega offer Real Madrid were lining up for Flamengo’s teenage star Vinicius Jr.
According to the report, Florentino Perez, desperate not to lose out to Barcelona as he did with Neymar, will pay up to 61 million euros for the 16-year-old.
Of that, €45m will go to the Brazilian club and €16m will be split between Vinicius’s parents and agents equally.
Vinicius’s response to the stories arrived on Sunday afternoon in the form of a convincing tweet.
Alongside a photograph of him in a Flamengo shirt, kissing the badge, he added the caption: “I love you, Flamingo. What a game! Congratulations to the group!.”
It’s clear that the money and the chance to play for one of the world’s biggest clubs will eventually see Vinicius move to Europe, but, for now, Perez knows he will not find it was to sign the Flamengo player.
