Despite a slow start to the campaign, two goals against Sporting have propelled Ronaldo to the top
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has risen to the top of the Pichichi standings after his two goals in the first half of his side’s game against Sporting Gijon on Saturday.
Ronaldo’s first goal came from the penalty spot after a foul given away by Sergio Alvarez. He then scored his second goal moments later after good work from Nacho Fernandez.
With those two goals, plus the hat-trick he scored against Atletico Madrid last weekend, he has moved on to 10 goals in La Liga this season, two more than Barcelona stars Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Of Ronaldo’s 10 goals, they’ve all come in just five matches. He also scored a hat-trick against Alaves and scored just once in wins against Real Betis and Osasuna.
