Cristiano Ronaldo claims he wants to play until he is 41 years old

The Portuguese forward spoke at an event to mark his new five-year deal which takes him up to 2021 at Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo spoke at an event to mark the signing of his new five-year contract with Real Madrid.

The forward claimed he wants to keep playing for another 10 years and that his is NOT his last contract deal. 

“This is a special day for me, extending my links with this club, the club of my heart. Renewing for five years is very special and let it be clear that this is not the last contract,” said the striker.

“I want to keep making history and I'm sure that in the next five years I will keep scoring goals and winning trophies with the best club in the world. I want to finish my career at this club but I want this to be my penultimate contract.”

Asked if he wanted to beat Ferenc Puskas, who played up to the age of 39, Ronaldo said he wanted to play until “41. 'I think I have got 10 years left.”
