The goalkeeper was taken off at half time with stomach problems

Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois feels poorly treated and at the centre of unfounded criticism. To the point that it was just for physical reasons that he was taken off in the game against Club Brugges in the Champions League.

The best thing that could have happened to the stopper now is the international break. Because SPORT have been able to confirm that he's considerably angry with what he feels is an unfair campaign against him -- especially when Madrid sit top of the table.

His anger reached boiling point against Brugges, SPORT has learned. He went into that game with stomach problems, although they didn't impede him starting against the Belgian side. Everyone knows what happened in the first half of that game now: two goals conceded, one off the back of a huge Modric error, which led to some people at the Bernabeu jeering their goalkeeper.

That led Courtois to return to the dressing room at half time angry about the treatment he was receiving when he was not exclusively responsible. That anger, coupled with the stomach problems, sae him taken off at the break and left out completely against Granada.

His absence for the league game wasn't strictly a medical one. The decision also weighed on his mood, with his anger at the situation he's currently going through in Madrid.

Los Blancos now have three away games after the international break. It won't be until Oct. 30 that he's back in front of his home fans again. That gives time for things to calm down, which is what Madrid are hoping for, because Courtois is their bet in goal.
