Bayern Munich have presented a formal complaint to UEFA about the behaviour of the Spanish police during the game against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“At half-time in the game between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid there were fierce attacks by police on Bayern Munich fans,” wrote the club in a statement on its website.
“Bayern think the Spanish police’s actions was completely out of place and excessive and have presented a complaint to UEFA.”
The German side will also ask for explanations from the police for what happened during the interval.
There was an attack by the police on the fans during the half-time period of the clash on Tuesday night, with German television saying the police action was “completely disproportionate”, watching images of what happened in the stands.
