Real Madrid beat the Ligue 1 leaders 5-2 on aggregate

Paris Saint-Germain crashed out of the Champions League at the round of 16 stage for the second season running, losing 5-2 to Real Madrid on aggregate.

After being knocked out, PSG winger Julian Draxler was critical of the French side when being interviewed on German television.

"We deserved to be eliminated," he said. "This summer we spent 400 million euros and they said that everything was going to change. In the end, we haven't even got through [the last 16] again."

Draxler also appeared to criticise Unai Emery's tactics for the game, which PSG lost 2-1 on the night having lost the first leg 3-1.

"We passed the ball around but you can't win just doing that. You have to press Real Madrid when you lose 3-1, not just make passes and wait for something to fall for you."

Draxler came on as a second half substitute for Angel Di Maria, who had filled in for the injured Neymar.
