Victor Valdes named in Manchester United league squad

Louis van Gaal has named Victor Valdes in his squad for the Premier League.

Despite their row and ongoing tension at the club, the ex-Barcelona stopper has been included.

However, he was earlier excluded from their Champions League squad.

With David de Gea's transfer to Real Madrid falling through, Manchester United have a lot of goalkeepers.

There is current first-choice, Sergio Romero, the two exiles, De Gea and Valdes - though both could be back sooner rather than later - and youngster Sam Johnstone. 

Valdes tried to move to Besiktas in the summer but the move fell through because the Turkish club changed the terms of the deal.
