Victor Valdes left out of squad for Manchester United's tour of the USA

Victor Valdes' days at Manchester United could be numbered after Louis van Gaal surprisingly left him out of the squad for the club's tour of the United States this summer.

The Catalan goalkeeper, 33, who has a contract with United until June 2016, which he signed after recovering from a serious knee injury, has already turned down an offer from Turkish side Antalyaspor recently.

"He has one more year on his contract. We don't see any reason to leave the club. United is one of the three or four best clubs in the world. Victor's happy to have a place in the team and he is ready to help next season," said Gines Carvajal, the player's agent, adding that Valdes "doesn't want to go to Antalyaspor."

During Monday morning it had been rumoured that David de Gea would not go on the tour because of a potential move to Real Madrid. However, the young Spanish goalkeeper was included on the list, with Lindegaard and Johnstone the other stoppers.

Valdes' absence opens the door to doubts over his future. He could leave Old Trafford having played just two official matches for the club, both at the end of last season.
