Official: Manchester City confirm the signing of Celta Vigo's Nolito

The soap opera is over. Spain international forward Nolito, until now a Celta Vigo player, has signed a four-year deal with Manchester City, as revealed by the English club on Friday.

City will pay the 18 million euro release clause in the 29-year-old's contract and he will wear the No.9 shirt at the Etihad Stadium.

The announcement comes after months of speculation surrounding Nolito's future. He was wanted by Luis Enrique, but Barça couldn't pay his clause in January, as explained by Josep Maria Bartomeu on Thursday.

Finally, after starting all of Spain's games at Euro 2016, it's Pep Guardiola's City that have landed his signature. The Catalan coach and Nolito coincided at Barça between 2008 and 2011, when the player was at Barça B and Guardiola was first team coach at Camp Nou.

Under Pep, Nolito played five games in the Blaugrana first team. Now, after spells with Benfica, Granada and Celta, he will link up with his former coach again.
