Manchester United set to bid for unhappy Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United want to go fishing in troubled waters - for Cristiano Ronaldo. In recent days the Real Madrid striker has shown his displeasure in public and it could result in a return to the English side, as mentioned in several newspapers in that country.

In the last few hours the news has arrived that a deal has nearly been done with PSG to sell Angel di Maria for €65million. That would give them a good start on being able to afford Ronaldo, and with new sponsors Adidas, Manchester United's coffers are greatly increased.

THe English side is signing players quickly in this transfer market and Cristiano Ronaldo would be the icing on the cake of an excellent window for them. With Rooney, Mata, Herrera and Depay, among others, they would have an extremely competitive team.

Ronaldo's relationship with Rafa Benitez is not good. Before Rafa was announced as coach, Ronaldo posted a picture with Carlo Ancelotti on the social networks, saying he wanted the Italian to stay.

Florentino Perez ignored the opinion of Madrid's star player and presented Rafa Benitez. We have seen tension in the training sessions, with Ronaldo accusing Benitez of only blowing for fouls against the Portuguese players and telling him to "f*** off".

Furthermore in an early press conference Benitez didn't say that Ronaldo was the best player in the world, putting him on the same level as Bale, Benzema and James. One week later, he changed his mind, saying that Cristiano was in fact the best.

The sale of Ronaldo's image rights to Peter Lim has also signified that a change of environment could happen for him sooner rather than later. It's all in his power. If he wanted to leave the club, Madrid wouldn't be able to keep him.
