Manchester City deny they have an agreement in place with Carlo Ancelotti

A spokesman for Manchester City has denied the club have signed a pre-contract agreement with current Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti for next season.

The press in Italy reported on Friday morning that Ancelotti would take the place of Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the current campaign, suggesting he will leave Madrid after a disappointing end to the season.

Man City sources, however, have dismissed that possibility and insist there is no agreement with Ancelotti with regards to managing the club in the future.

They have also denied that Pep Guardiola, the current Bayern Munich boss, has agreed to take over from Pellegrini.

City are yet to take a decision on Pellegrini's future, with the Chilean unable to build on last season's title success.
