Man Utd keen on Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane
After everything that happened with David de Gea, you would not imagine Manchester United and Real Madrid would be looking to negotiate with each other any time soon, at least not now. However, with Louis van Gaal and Florentino Perez involved, anything is possible.
According to the Daily Star in England, Man United are readying an offer to tempt Raphael Varane to England in January. The Red Devils are extremely interested in the French defender after failing to land Sergio Ramos, who eventually renewed with Madrid, and Nicolas Otamendi, who signed for Manchester City, this summer.
Van Gaal is desperate for a central defender and he’s let the club now Varane is his man. However, with the relationship stretched between Madrid and United, it seems unlikely that Florentino Perez would be willing to listen to an offer. Varane, 22, is considered one for the future in the Spanish capital and the Premier League side would have to fork up a lot of money to even force Los Blancos to listen.
