Man Utd give up on Neymar & turn attention back to Bale

Manchester United urgently need a signing to excite their fans and to recover their position at the top of English and European football - that’s why they have been in contact with Neymar, as the Brazilian striker and his father have previously revealed.

However, United now realise they must forget the Barcelona star, whose contract renewal with the Catalan club is closer than ever. Therefore, the Premier League club have once again made Gareth Bale their primary objective, according to reports in England.

Neymar’s current release clause is 190 million euros. United would have been ready to pay it initially, but having finally learned of the player’s desire to stay at Barça their interest has at last waned.

In exchange, Bale’s future at Real Madrid is not as clear, which is the reason Manchester United have re-activated their interest in the Welsh international. They want him to lead their new project, which is likely to be managed by Jose Mourinho.

To sign Bale at the moment seems much more attainable than signing Neymar. The 26-year-old forward could leave the Santiago Bernabeu in exchange for around 100 million euros.

Needing a huge star since the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid in 2009, United are threatening to break the bank when the summer transfer window opens: With Neymar ruled out, they are now thinking of Bale.
