Man City eye Pep Guardiola as Manuel Pellegrini blows Premier League hopes

Manchester City are set to try and entice Pep Guardiola to the club by offering the Catalan coach an offer he'll find difficult to turn down -- but only if Manuel Pellegrini ends the season without a trophy.

The current Premier League champions were beaten by Liverpool on Sunday, leaving them five points behind table toppers Chelsea having played a game more.

And last Tuesday's defeat at home to Barcelona leaves their Champions League status hanging in the balance.

On top of that, they have already been knocked out of the League Cup and were humiliated by Championship side Middlesbrough in the FA Cup last month.

Bayern Munich's former Barça boss Guardiola is therefore the man City are set to turn to

According to English newspaper 'The Sun', Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain, who both worked with Guardiola at Barça, want to offer Guardiola the job for next season.

Guardiola is currently in the second year of a three-year deal with Bayern.
