Klopp wants to make Iñaki Williams his new Aubameyang

The Liverpool manager sees similarities between the players and would like to sign the Athletic forward

Jurgen Klopp is keen to strengthen his Liverpool attack. The German coach is looking at Iñaki Williams as a potential January signing.

According to Sky Sports, Klopp thinks Williams could explode in a similar way to Aubameyang did at Borussia Dortmund. The Liverpool boss has observed in the Athletic player a series of characteristics which he feels are similar to the Gabon forward.

Among the characteristics shared by both players is versatility. Both Aubameyang and Williams have both played across the front three. They are also both quick, which marks their style.

Williams, five years younger than Aubameyang, still has a lot to improve in terms of goal scoring, something the latter did in his last year with Saint-Etienne when he was 23, a year older than Williams.

In England they say Liverpool could make a January move, but Williams' new deal with Athletic runs until 2021 and his release clause is 50 million euros.
