Ivan Rakitic is Manchester United and City transfer target this summer

The infrequent performances of Ivan Rakitic in games this season has not gone unnoticed in England.

The Croatian who joined Barcelona in the summer to be the 'new brain' of the team does not have the role that he expected on arrival and several teams in the Premier League would be interested in taking the player in the summer.

As published in several British media, both Manchester United and Manchester City are willing to pay around €25million for the Croatian midfielder - five more than Barcelona paid for him just six months ago. 

Louis van Gaal was already interested in him when the Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford, though with Frank Lampard set to leave in the summer and move to the new New York side, City will need a new central midfielder.
