Iniesta: City have taken Guardiola's style on board and look to dominate possession

Andres Iniesta says Manchester City have already taken on Pep Guardiola's style and that Barcelona's Champions League opponents on Wednesday are a strong candidate for this season's top prize in European football.

“Man City are a great team with some excellent players and they have strengthened well over the summer,” the Barça captain said ahead of Guardiola's return to Camp Nou this week.

"we will come into the match with lots of enthusiasm and will try and win so we can remain in a strong position in the group.

“Guardiola's teams always play how he wants them to and Man City, even in the short time he has been there, have taken his playing style on board and look to dominate possession.

"[City] are a strong candidate to win the tournament and are among a select few teams who can come close to winning the Champions League."

Iniesta is expected to start against his former coach's side on Wednesday after being left out of Barcelona's last two league games due to Luis Enrique's rotation policy.

However, he will come back into the side against City, with the only doubt surrounding who will partner Gerard Pique in defence. Javier Mascherano or Samuel Umtiti?
