Ibrahim Afellay joins Barça clan at Stoke City

Stoke City have signed former Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old's contract at the Camp Nou expired on June 30 and he joins an enclave of ex-Barcelona players with the Potters.

Bojan Krkic, Marc Muniesa and Moha El Ouriachi are already at the Britannia and now Afellay has joined them.

Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes said: "It's no secret that Ibrahim was wanted by a number of clubs and we are understandably delighted that he has chosen to join us.

"He's clearly excited about the prospect of playing in the Premier League and the fact that he knows so many players who are already at the club will no doubt help him settle into his new surroundings."
