The Tottenham star says it would be a dream to land the prize

"I¿m not far off, you look at the year I¿ve had, it¿s been a fanastic year"

Tottenham striker Harry Kane doesn't think he's too far away from winning the Ballon d'Or and says it would be a "dream" to one day win the coveted prize.

In an advance of the BBC show Football Focus, Kane, the only English candidate among this year's 30 nominees, says it's "fantastic" to see his name alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

“To be up there with those sort of names and same sort of company as them is fantastic," the Spurs striker said. "Of course, I still think I've got a bit of work to do to be right up there and in contention to win it.

"But I’m not far off, you look at the year I’ve had, it’s been a fanastic year. So now it’s just about imporving on that and keep getting better and better.

"Hopefully these things will keep happening and of course one day it will be a dream to win it.”

The England international, 24, has scored 43 goals im 37 games in 2017 for club and country.
