Guardiola: I am approaching the end of my career as a manager

The former Barcelona boss made the surprising admission in an interview with NBC

Pep Guardiola’s confessed that his career in coaching could end sooner than later, speaking an interview with American network NBC.

"What I like is to imagine that the next step can be better -- if not, I will not be here," the Manchester City boss explained.

"I feel that the the process of my goodbye has already started."

Pep, who is in the first of three years at the Premier League side, suggested he will fulfil his contract, but let it up for interpretation what comes after that.

He added: “I will not be a trainer when I am 60 or 65 years old.

“Manchester City is three years, or maybe longer, but I am still approaching the end of my career as a manager -- I am sure of that."

On his plans for the future, he commented in a jokey manner that he “will be on a golf course. If you look for me, that’s where I will be, for sure.”

The City coach is currently in his ninth season as a manager having debuted with Barça B in 2007.
