Gabriel Jesus scores twice as Man City creep past Swansea City

The Brazilian teenager is already a star in England after an explosive start at his new club

Gabriel Jesus scored a stoppage time winner to crown the perfect start in English football as Manchester City beat Swansea City 2-1.

The former Barcelona target had opened the scoring in the first half, but the Welsh side equalised after the break through Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Jesus made his first start in last week's FA Cup win over Crystal Palace and was then handed his full Premier League debut in midweek, scoring in the rout at West Ham.

And against Swansea the Brazilian starred as Pep Guardiola's City moved up to third in the Premier League following slip-ups from Arsenal and Liverpool on Saturday.

The opening goal came in a first half dominated by the home side at the Etihad -- they would have been disappointed to only go in at half-time with a one goal lead.

David Silva did well and Raheem Sterling knocked the ball down for Jesus to fire home from six yards.

Swansea improved in the second half and City struggled to create as much. They were soon made to pay for their prolificacy in the first period when Sigurdsson beat Willy Caballero -- once again chosen ahead of Claudio Bravo -- with 10 minutes left.

Guardiola threw on Sergio Aguero in search of a winner but it was the teenager Jesus who came up with the goods.

His initial header was saved by Lukasz Fabianski but he was presented with a rebound which he couldn't miss.
