Reports said Zuckerberg had tabled an offer to buy the English club

However, Spurs have moved quickly to deny any deal is being discussed

Marc Zuckerberg will not buy Tottenham, who through an official statement have denied any talks with the Facebook owner.

Reports claimed that Zuckerberg, along with a consortium of American companies from a group called Icoquiq Capital, was interested in buying Spurs for around one billion euros.

"The board is not in any discussions relating to a takeover offer for the club," a Tottenham statement read in response on their website.

"The club engaged Rothschild to secure the funding for the new stadium. As expected many proposals came forward including bank debt and equity investment.

"The club announced on 31 May 2017 the completion of the bank debt financing for the new stadium with a consortium of banks involving Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Limited, Goldman Sachs Bank USA and HSBC Bank plc.

"The board believes this was the optimum solution in the interests of fans, employees and shareholders and for the continued development of the club."

Therefore, the London-based club, who will play at Wembley this season while they wait for their new ground to be finished, close, or at least hope to close, any speculation regarding their ownership, which will continue in the hands of Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy.
