England manager Sam Allardyce's job on the line after newspaper sting

An investigation has been launched into the conduct of the coach by the Football Association

England manager Sam Allardyce’s days could be numbers. An undercover sting by the newspaper The Telegraph has linked the coach, who’s only managed one game since taking over from Roy Hodgson, with advising how third-party ownership rules can be avoided. The FA, whose rules Allardyce was explaining how to get around, have opened an investigation into the matter.

In the video published by The Telegraph, Allardyce can be seen in a restaurant with supposed businessman revealing how to breach the FA’s rules in order to make money from Premier League transfers. The English coach even offers to show them exactly how to obtain benefits in exchange for 400,000 pounds in compensation.

During one moment in the video, Allardyce assures that “it’s not a problem, it’s been going on for many years.” The investigation, which lasted 10 months, takes the lid off a corruption network in English football, with directors and agents receiving money in exchange for facilitating the transfers of players.
