Chelsea beaten by Palace; Manchester City march on

Chelsea fell eight points behind Manchester City in the Premier League after being beaten at home by Crystal Palace.

It was Jose Mourinho's second ever defeat at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League and it arrived in his 100th home league game as Chelsea boss.

Pedro's cross was headed home by Radamel Falcao to draw the Blues level after Bakary Sako had given Palace the lead in the second half.

That set up an interesting final 10 minutes, with Chelsea looking to go and claim three points from there.

However, it was the visitors who snatched a late winner when Joel Ward poked home from close range.

Up in Manchester, Manuel Pellegini's side continued their perfect start to the season with a 2-0 win over Watford.

Raheem Sterling got the first goal, with the second arriving courtesy of Fernandinho, although it was all about David Silva in the build up.

There was also a win for Arsenal, away at Newcastle, while Liverpool were thrashed 3-0 at home to West Ham.

Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal

Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester

Aston Villa 2-2 Sunderland
