Fabregas is looking forward to playing at the Wanda Metropolitano

Chelsea player Cesc Fabregas will be one of the protagonists in the Champions League clash against Atletico on Wednesday.

Fabregas told Onda Cero: "On Saturday Conte told me that I would rest and we will see for Wednesday, it makes me very excited to play against Atletico. They've told me the Metropolitano is a spectacular stadium."

Fabregas showed his satisfaction at Diego Costa getting the move back to Atletico he wanted. "I've become very good friends with him and we have a big connection on and off the pitch. Diego has been through a lot, he didn't know it was going to happen and now he's happy. I wish him the best, he's a great friend."

The player's absence from the national team has not killed his hopes. "Lopetegui called me the first time he didn't call me up and I understood perfectly. I've been a year out of the squad. The World Cup is far away but I feel like an important player at Chelsea and I hope to return."
