Alexis: I don't feel inferior to anybody - I compare with Messi and Ronaldo

Arsenal’s Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez has made some surprising claims when comparing himself to the best two players in the world, Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

"I have reached a level where I can compete with great players. I do not feel inferior to anybody. I compare [my qualities] to Messi and Cristiano. I have the same abilities as them,” the former Barcelona player said.

Alexis joined Arsenal for around 40 million euros in 2014. He has since gone on to make nearly 100 appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side, scoring 43 goals in the process.

He's spent the last week in South America with his national side, losing vital points in qualification for the World Cup in Russia in 2018. Chile followed up a defeat to Paraguay with a goalless draw against Bolivia.

As a result, La Roja, who have won two Copa Americas in a row, are now seventh in the standings and have work to do to qualify.
