Aguero says Manchester City future is no longer in his hands

Sergio Aguero has cast doubt on his future at Manchester City, saying it's up to the club to decide what they want to do with him.

The Argentina international was left on the bench for the second Premier League game running as City beat Swansea City 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.

His place in the team has been taken by 19-year-old Gabriel Jesus, who followed up a midweek goal against West Ham United with two more against Swansea -- including a stoppage time winner.

"Sometimes this happens," he said in the mixed zone after coming on as a substitute for the final 10 minutes.

"When you’re on the bench you have to wait for your opportunity.

"I have three months [until the end of the season] to do my best and try to help the team and we’ll see what happens with my future.

“I have to help the team as much as I can in these three months, afterwards we’ll see what the club wants to do with me.”

Aguero said he has three years on his contract at City and insisted he wants to stay at the club, but suggested it the decision may not be in his hands.

And the former Atletico Madrid striker even suggested he could learn from Jesus, who has quickly adapted to the demands of Pep Guardiola.

He added: "At the moment I have to watch what he does, to learn. I have spent a lot of years in Europe playing the same way."

Guardiola, meanwhile, maintains that he wants Aguero to stay at the club.

The Catalan coach says he still has a big role to play in City's future and that he can even play in the same side as Jesus.

"Aguero is going to play a lot of games," Guardiola said in his post game news conference.

"He's going to play with Gabriel, without Gabriel, but today I stuck with the same three [Sterling, Jesus, Sane]."
