Barcelona's French centre back insisted that his country had played well throughout the tournament and were worthy winners
Samuel Umtiti was the happiest man in the world following France's victory in Moscow. "We deserve this. We've played really well throughout the whole tournament."
The Barcelona defender, who put in yet another strong performance during the World Cup final, spoke to 'Telecinco' and said: "What we want now is to celebrate this triumph with our families and our teammates."
"We won't ever forget this moment. This is an extraordinary feeling. Now it's time to celebrate, to enjoy this title," he concluded.
Atletico Madrid defender, Lucas Hernandez, was by Umtiti's side and is a close friend of the Barcelona man. "We've had a great tournament. I never thought I'd be a World Champion. I'm proud and happy. I dedicate this victory to my girlfriend, who is pregnant and couldn't be here with us."
