Brazil were unable to mount a comeback against Belgium and lost 2-1, despite Coutinho providing the assist for Brazil's consolation goal

Following Brazil's 1-2 defeat to Belgium in Kazan, many of the Brazilian players spoke to the media about going out of the World Cup at the quarter final stage. One of them was Philippe Coutinho, who admitted it was tough to take because their dream was to win the tournament.

Brazil couldn't complete the comeback after going 2-0 down to Belgium in the first half and were duly eliminated. "It's tough to take because this ends our dream of winning the cup. The way we lost today is difficult, really hard. However we did the best we could and gave everything we had," added Coutinho.

Coutinho provided the assist for Renato Augusto's goal which made Brazil dream about a comeback. The Barça man's brilliant pass over the top of the Belgian defence was headed past Courtois by his teammate. In the end it wasn't enough as Belgium weathered the storm, while Courtois had a fantastic finish as he kept Brazil at bay almost single-handedly. "In the second half we played well but, sadly, it wasn't enough," concluded Coutinho.
