Zidane and Klopp are considered favourites for Marseille job

German coach Jurgen Klopp, who is without a club after leaving Borussia Dortmund, and Belgian coach Eric Gerets, are the alternatives to Zinedine Zidane to manage Olympique Marseille. The French club are looking for a new coach, after the surprising resignation of Marcelo Bielsa on Saturday, after the team's 1-0 loss against Caen.

Zidane will manage Real Madrid Castilla for the second consecutive season in the Segunda B, and has become the favourite for the job at Marseille, according to L'Equipe. The Ligue 1 outfit are open to other candidates if the former France international rejects them, with Jurgen Klopp and Al Jazira coach Eric Gerets on their wishlist.

The resignation of Bielsa was a shock, as the former Athletic Club boss had already spoken about a two-year contract extension. There is speculation that he has received an offer to coach the Mexican national team.
