Neymar enters the French dictionary!
The PSG forward has an entry in the prestigious dictionary Le Robert
PSG's Brazilian star Neymar has shown that sport, in certain occasions, can cross all frontiers and arrive to corners of the world that would be previously unthinkable.
An example is that has happened when Neymar moved to PSG last summmer for a world record 222 million euros.
The social and sporting impact Neymar has had in French society has lead to the prestigious French dictionary Le Robert creating an entry for the Brazil forward.
According to newspaper Le Parisien, Neymar will have a special entry in the 2019 version of the French language dictionary, which was first created in 1951 and has some 60,000 entries.
Neymar is one of the personalities that will be included in the illustrated edition of Le Robert from 2019. It will be released on May 16 and Neymar will have an entry of seven lines with a photo.
"Neymar keeps cropping up in the French media and that is why he has been chosen," said Alain Ray, editorial adviser to Le Robert.
The last PSG player to have an entry in the dictionary is former England captain David Beckham, who ended his glorious footballing career at the Paris club in 2013.
