Motta unsure Ronaldo could take on Zlatan's leadership role

Thiago Motta has questioned whether Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar would be able to fill the gap left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Swede played his last game for the club at the weekend and PSG are reportedly looking to sign another big name to fill his shoes in the French capital next season.

Ronaldo appears the most likely signing, as reported in Italy on Tuesday, while Neymar looks set to continue at Barcelona.

“Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar? They are important players, players who make the difference on the pitch,” former Barça player Motta said.

“But I would like to see if they can behave like leaders, like Ibra did.

“If they can’t, we run the risk of regression. [Edinson] Cavani can occupy the striker role, I hope he can take advantage of the opportunity.”
